Wisconsin’s more than 1,300 foundations provided nearly $475 million in grants in 2009 which has created opportunities and a better quality of life. To encourage the tradition of charitable giving all over the country there are measures that Congress can take including protecting the charitable deduction, fostering more giving and promoting rural philanthropy.
